Hullo!
I began my animation journey with a production internship at Curious Pictures (NYC) over 20 years ago. I worked in various departments throughout the years before settling into storyboards. I’ve learned so much during the time I spent in production, color, and sheet timing departments. Unlike many other storyboard artists I understand why production needs things done a certain way and how my work affects the rest of the production pipeline.
I take the greatest pleasure in bringing characters to life. The directors I’ve worked with will tell you that I slay at character acting (no boring model sheet drawings here!). They will also tell you that my storyboards rarely get notes, and if there are notes they are light. I save them a lot of headache so they can focus on what they do best.
As of January 2023 I accepted an appointment as an adjunct instructor at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where I now teach storyboarding. It is an honor to return to my alma mater to share what I know with the next generation of storytellers and to assist them in their journey. I am grateful that my current employers have supported me in this endeavor! Teaching has pushed me to approach my own storyboarding practice in a different way and it has made me a stronger artist.
Apart from work I enjoy the great outdoors, my little dog Freya, and designing jewelry. (If you’re curious, check out my website here.)
